delonghi-deep-fryerMost deep fryer owners are bothered with the same problem that the frying oil will be spoiled after just several uses. But, there is no need to be worried, as these few simple tips will make your cooking oil fresh for months without going rancid. Furthermore, they will improve the taste of your food and cleaning your electric deep fryer will be a breeze. Lots of electric deep fryer models are equipped with a filter making sure that even small bits of leftovers and food floating in your frying oil are removed. No matter how boring filtering is, you should keep your oil fresh in order to prevent leftover foods from leaving a bad taste. If you don’t change your cooking oil occasionally, it may happen that foods you fry in dirty oil absorb flavors from old foods or it might even taste burnt from leftover food particles. However, if your item is a little bit older model, you’ll have to filter your oil manually.

First of all, find a large deep container to store your oil in. After that get a mesh strainer and put it over the container. Then pour out your dirty oil into the strainer slowly and wait until all the solid particles have been filtered out of the oil. Only then can you get the frying oil back into your electric deep fryer. In addition, this process should be repeated from time to time in order to keep your oil fresh as long as possible.

Put the cover on your electric deep fryer when you don’t use it, as this will keep out oxygen and light that can quickly oxidize oil and make it rancid. Besides, covering your fryer doesn’t allow dust and debris get into it, and also makes sure the oil doesn’t spill outside.

You are recommended to avoid excessively high temperatures while filtering your oil. Furthermore, keep your oil covered in the dark, as then it can last for several months. Make sure to throw the oil if it starts to smell rancid, darkens in color, or becomes thick and viscous.
